Early Childhood Aide at Flushing
DESCRIPTION
The Early Childhood Center at Flushing Library is an area where parents/caregivers and their children ages 8-38 months play and learn together! We provide toys and books specially selected to enhance toddlers’ early learning and social growth. Parents/caregivers learn that they are their children’s first teacher. Early Childhood Aides coordinate with staff to:
-Organize and monitor the use of materials
-Share tips with parents/caregivers
-Develop programs in consultation with Children’s Librarians and Early Learning Specialist
SKILLS REQUIRED

18 year old and up.

College students and candidates for MS Early Education or MLS programs welcome

Comfortable working with families with toddlers
-
Interested in young children’s development and first words

Mandarin a plus
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Available Mondays through Saturdays from 10:30AM-12:30PM and/or 2:00PM-6:00PM.
Volunteer schedules depend on individual dates and times available. Volunteers may work a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Individuals, 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
