Online Learning Volunteer at Rochdale ALC 2018-19
The Rochdale Village Adult Learning Center provides services, resources, and life-long learning opportunities to the changing communities of Queens. In addition to English as a Second Language (ESOL) and High School Equivalency preparation classes we offer individualized case management and job readiness services. The Online Learning Volunteer will work with Adult Learning students enrolled in online learning programs. They will enroll students in the program, assist them in navigation, and monitor progress.
Responsibilites
- Enroll students in online learning programs (ex: ITTS, Learning Upgrade, etc.) upon completion of intake and assessment processes
- Assist adult learners in creating online study plan
- Demonstrate navigation and use of programs
- Monitor student progress and followup as needed
- Track and enter data on student participation; solicit feedback
Required Skills
- Must be 18 years old and over
- Must have strong networking and outreach skills working with a diverse population
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail oriented, flexible and a self-starter
- Must be proficient and knowledgeable in technology (i.e. Office Suite software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, social media, video conferencing, etc.).
Additional Notes
Individuals 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
