JOIDES Exhibit Volunteer at Flushing 2018-19
This summer, Queens Library will host a unique pop-up science exhibit where the public can learn how scientists on board a research drilling ship are studying the seafloor’s core! There will be six kiosks on display as part of this exhibit, plus a special exhibit of an inflatable, 45-foot replica of the JOIDES Resolution ship.
Volunteers will monitor one of the kiosks (hands on displays). They will work with the children and families that visit these displays, interact with Children, teens and families working with the JOIDES Resolution exhibit (hands on displays).
DATE: August 15, 2018 - August 31, 2018
TIME: Between the hours of 11:30 am - 4:30pm
REQUIREMENTS:
- 16 years of age or older (Minors must provide valid parental consent and NYS working papers).
- Strong communication skills required.
- Outgoing personality; able to talk with others
- Work well with children, teens and families
ADDITIONAL NOTES

Individuals 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
