Adult Education Clerical Aide 2019-20 (Multiple Locations)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Adult Education Clerical Aide provides administrative and office support to staff, volunteers and interns within one of the Adult Learning Centers located across Queens.

Specific duties include:

  • Assist with translations and paperwork during registrations, orientations, workshops, etc.

  • Assist in office: scanning documents, shredding, filing for CM, making copies, etc.

  • Assist new students with self-study procedures (using headphones and listening equipment with CDs/DVDs, utilizing computer programs for English Language Learning, etc.)

  • Assist with books (shelving, fixing, affixing labels, etc.)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills\

  • Detail oriented and flexible

  • Technology Proficient in MS Office and/or Google Suite

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Bilingual (Mandarin/English)


TRAINING (MANDATORY)
Candidates must be available to attend the following sessions:

Orientation
Tuesday, September 10th from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the Central Library

AND

Clerical Aide Workshop
September 14th from 10:00am - 1:00pm at Flushing Adult Learning Center

Individuals 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
