Get Out the Vote: Text Out the Vote
Queens Public Library is working to Get Out the Vote!
Join QPL as we team with DemocracyNYC on June 21st to Text Out the Vote -- Calling New Yorkers to cast their vote in the upcoming primary elections.
We are hosting a virtual text bank to send messages encouraging the public to vote. This is your chance to take an active role in shaping the future of the city (and earn community service hours along the way).
HOW IT WORKS
1. Attend a brief orientation from DemocracyNYC on how to send out text (Text messages go through an exchange with your personal number staying anonymous).
2. Receive a list of numbers to text out reminders to vote in the June 22nd primary elections and info on using Rank Choice Voting.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
1. Click the SIGN-UP Button and create a Vounteer Connect account (This is to receive service hours).
2. Afterwards, head over to DemocracyNYC (click here) and register for the June 21st - 5:00pm - 7:00pm session. IMPORTANT - This is the only session involving QPL.
3. Look for the confirmation email from DemocracyNYC containing the ZOOM link for the session. Log in on 6/21 at 5:00pm and receive a quick tutorial to use Hustle; and begin texting.
