Rochdale ESOL Conversation Facilitators
The ESOL Conversation Facilitator provides assistance with beginning and/or intermediate level English speakers in a small group setting. The facilitator helps students become comfortable and confident speaking English in real-life situations when: shopping, going to the doctor/hospital, applying for a job, opening a bank account and/or attending a parent-teacher conference at school.
Skill Requirements:
- Have a high school diploma or higher
- Speak English fluently
- Have patience, flexibility and a desire to help
- Able to commit at least three months to the program
- Adhere to the program philosophy
- Attend all required volunteer training sessions
- Recognize and respect variations in student backgrounds, abilities and learning styles.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Individuals, 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check.
