Go the Extra Mile (G.E.M.)
The G.E.M. (Go the Extra Mile) Program recognizes community service performed by library volunteers that truly exemplify the values of Queens Library; and celebrates service and support to customers and staff that goes above and beyond expectations.
G.E.M. recipients are identified each quarter between September - May; and must be nominated by library staff. Selected volunteers receive a certificate, commemorative pin and a small gift of appreciation courtesy of Queens Library. Additionally, volunteers are interviewed and showcased on the library website(s) and social media feeds.
