Youth Access Event with Councilmember Crowley and Legal Hand
Join Queens Library as we come out to the Youth Access Event with Councilmember Crowley and Legal Hand on Monday, August 28th at The Shops at Altlas Park.
We will be on-hand to meet and greet local residents and visitors; telling them about the fantastic programs and services offered by the library, free-of-charge!
Volunteers are needed to assist:
Distribute flyers, brochures, and pamphlets
Provide free giveaways to the public
Help sign-up new library card holders
14 years old and up (minors must have parental consent)
Outgoing personality; able to talk with others
No working papers needed

Shift 1: 11:00am - 1:30pm
Shift 2: 1:30pm - 4:00pm

The Adult Learning Center at Central Library seeks a qualified office aide to support the High School Equivalency Program (HSE). The individual would be responsible for answering inquiries from the HSE Hotline and library website.
Specific Duties include:
Monitoring and providing timely responses to emails, calls and messages; and referring inquiries to program staff
Follow-up with TASC registrants regarding test related questions and schedules
Responsible for additional tasks as assigned by program staff
Must be 18-24 years old
Previous experience working in an office setting
Solid public speaking and phone etiquette skills
Experience with Google Docs, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Availability a minimum fifteen hours per week; weekday mornings is preferred
Individuals, 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
