Job Readiness Aide at Far Rockaway
Description
Under the supervision of the Job Skills training staff, the Job Readiness Aide at Far Rockaway will assist in the implementation of all job readiness services. This includes but is not limited to:
Under the supervision of the Job Skills training staff, the Job Readiness Aide at Far Rockaway will assist in the implementation of all job readiness services. This includes but is not limited to:
- Provide one-on-one career coaching.
- Conduct job readiness and technology workshops and assist individuals with skills identification.
- Record detailed records of all customer participation.
- Track department statistics in order to evaluate customer needs for program.
- Oversee the JBA desk by answering customer inquires and assisting individuals as needed.
- Conduct outreach and travels to various JBA locations as needed.
Skills required:
- High school diploma or equivalency diploma required
- Experience with customer service or social services and working one-on-one with customers
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Experience in facilitating workshops
- Computer savvy (MS Office, Email, Internet)
- Knowledge of Queens community resources
- Fluency in second language a plus but not required
- Desirable backgrounds/experience: workforce deveolpment, human resources, or social services
Schedule
Mondays - Thursdays
Shifts: 10:00AM - 12:00PM & 2:00PM - 6:00PM
Volunteer schedules depend on individual dates and times available. Volunteers may work a maximum of 15 hours per week.
