Mobile Food Pantry Distribution at Peninsula (QPL)
Join the Queens Public Library and Food Bank For New York City for a monthly food distribution serving the residents of Peninsula and surrounding communities.
Volunteers are needed to help distribute produce, protein, and s/helf-stable items to up to 300 families.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 14 years and older (13 with an accompanying adult)
- Minors must possess parental/guardian consent - (click to download)
- Must be able to stand for extending periods of time, and lift up to 25 pounds
BRINGING A MINOR
All adults interested in bringing a minor to volunteer must create an account for each child and submit all necessary documents (parental consent)
DATES & TIMES
Volunteers are scheduled from 10:00am - 3:00pm to assist with setup and closeout. The distribution is scheduled for 12:00pm - 2:00pm.

The project will be held in front of Peninsula Library

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a volunteer to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is an in-person opportunity. Minors must complete a parental consent form to volunteer for this project. (Not required for the 9/9 session).
Deadline: You must register no later than 48 hours before a scheduled project date.
