About Library Projects

Queens Public Library provides community service opportunities and internships for both individuals and groups.  Projects range in scope to meet the changing needs of the men, women and children that frequent the library and utilize its resources.

We offer projects year-round working directly with the general public or behind the scenes to support our staff. 


 

Activity Clubs 

Work with children and teens within a variety of interactive, creative and fun programs.  Most sessions held afternoons and weekends. View projects

 

Adult Education

Adult Education resources offer education, career, and citizenship-related services to the general public.  Volunteers provide assistance to help customers easily access available information and support staff members within the programs. View projects

  

Homework / Testing Support

Work with children in elementary through high school to reinforce academics; and provide guidance towards improving overall learning skills.  Sessions held weekdays and Saturdays. View projects

 

Library Aides

Contribute to the smooth operation of daily operation of a neighborhood branch.  Help sort, organize, and shelve circulation and archive materials such as books and magazines.  Projects available Weekdays and Saturdays during regular business hours.  View projects

 

Office / Departmental Support

Provide office, clerical, and professional support within the library's administrative departments and branch locations.  Ideal to build your resume, explore new career options, or put your skills and experience to good use.  Positions available weekdays during regular business hours (Some evenings or weekends possible).  View projects

 

Technology

Technology based projects connect tech-savvy volunteers able to offer guidance and support to customers within in a range of programs and services.  View projects
