Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (VIDEOS)
Effective immediately, New York State requires all public and private institutions with a workforce of over 15 people (full-time, part-time, volunteers and interns) to undergo yearly sexual harassment prevention training that meets certain standards under revised state laws adopted last year.
To comply, Queens Public Library volunteers and interns must complete a Sexual Harassment Prevention Workshop to remain eligible for community service and/or internships with the library. The New York State requirement applies to all regular volunteers and interns, 14 years and older.
Online Workshops
Sessions are conducted online using a self-guided presentation portal (see below) and typically take 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. Volunteers should use a desktop computer or laptop to complete the session.
Read This Before You Take the Training
- You must complete the session in one sitting and cannot save your progress. Do not refresh the page. If you reload the page, you may lose your place and have to restart the training.
- At the end of the training, you will get a certificate of completion. At the end of the training, you must click the “SAVE” button first in order to generate your certificate of completion. IMPORTANT: Either print your certificate or save it to your computer (and print later) BEFORE completing the session.
- Once completed, volunteers are instructed to give a copy of the Certificate of Completion to their Project Supervisor. Individuals will receive a confirmation email once their certificate has been received and processed.

- This training requires Chrome 67 (or later), Firefox 66.0.4 (or later), or Safari 11.1.1 (or later).

- There is closed captioning for the videos.
- There is also closed captioning as part of the training slides that will appear in the rare instances when the screen text differs from the voiceover audio.
