Earn College Scholarships for Serving the Community

When participating in community service, the satisfaction of helping others is often its own reward. However, for many students, community service is also a requirement for high school or college credit; and is also useful when creating a personal statement, resume or applying for financial aid.

According to Scholarships.com, when it comes to scholarship opportunities, community service helps to distinguish you from the competition by showing your commitment to making the world a better place.”  There is an extensive list of scholarships taking previous or current community service into account when determining recipients. Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of characteristics including gender, ethnicity, interests, current grade level, grades and geographic location.
