QPL Social Media Ambassadors

Queens Public Library has a central role in the civic life of every neighborhood in Queens, offering a forum for the exchange of ideas, the pursuit of intellectual and personal growth, and the joy of learning to all.

We are seeking individuals to help increase awareness of the Library, its resources, activities and opportunities through social media.
 
Spread the word on social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and using the hashtag #MyQPL to tell others about your appreciation for the library and most importantly, your commitment to the community.

What Does a Social Media Ambassador Do?

Social Media Ambassadors represent a unique group of QPL volunteers that support our mission by strengthening our presence on social media.

  1. ​Add Queens Public Library to your list of social media platforms

  2. ​Receive and open regular emails sent by QPL and share updates about Library events, activities, available resources and materials with your networks -- include your own comments to personalize your posts.

​Benefits of Being an Ambassador

Social Media Ambassadors receive an inside-view of Queens Public Library.  We offer one-of-a-kind benefits to Ambassadors including (but not limited to):

  • Obtain a sneak peek of newly renovated branches before they open to the public

  • Receive one-of-a-kind swag and goodies to show your love for QPL

  • Attend invitation-only meet-and-greets and other special events

  • Learn about activities for systemwide campaigns such as It's Time for Kind, Women's History Month, and Immigrant Heritage Month.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 16 years and older

  • Possess a robust social media presence using Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter

  • Willing to post a minimum of four (4) posts each month; and encourage networks to share information


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Queens Public Library reserves the right to review all online posts of its Social Media Ambassadors to ensure the content is in keeping with the standards, mission, and values of the institution; and may choose to conclude individual service at any time for any reason.
