(Private) Homework Helper at Briarwood (QPL)

Homework Helpers assist youth during after school hours to begin
work on daily take-home assignments.  Volunteers help prioritize assignments and consult with staff to easily access Library materials and information.  Common subject areas include Math, English Language Arts, Science, and History.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Open to students 14 and older
  • Possess a solid knowledge of specific subject areas
  • Comfortable working in a busy and fast-paced setting
  • Dependable and organized
  • Patience and the ability to simplify and explain materials
  • Must have a cheerful attitude and enjoy working with children ages 5-12 years old.
  • Must demonstrate appropriate behavior and judgment when working with children.
  • Good communication and time management skills.

PRE-INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
This opportunity requires applicants to answer a series of pre-interview questions.  You wil be prompted to answer all questions as part of the onboarding proces.  Please read all questions carefully and give your answers in complete sentences.

SCHEDULE
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:30pm - 5:00pm.  Minimum of two days per week
 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is an in-person opportunity. Individuals, 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
