Prom x QPL - Event Team Volunteer
This spring, Queens Public Library presents Prom x QPL, providing a one-of-kind experience for teens in the Cambria Heights community.
What's the Prom x QPL?
Prom x QPL unites the generosity of the Queens community, offering local high school students a comprehensive shopping experience with complimentary formalwear and accessories for the upcoming prom season.
Queens Public Library is reaching out to the community's sense of giving, inviting locals, businesses, and patrons to contribute by donating new or slightly worn formal wear. This includes dresses, tuxedos, gowns, suits, and matching accessories such as shoes, socks, handbags, and hair & beauty products.
Volunteers will be needed to complete the following tasks:
- Event registration table and welcome event attendees
- Assisting event attendees with finding their perfect prom attire and managing their time in the space
- Maintaining formalwear and accessories in an orderly fashion
- Rehanging garments from the fitting rooms and bringing them back to their racks
- Handing out giveaways
- Assisting staff with managing the event flow
MINIMUM SKILLS:
Must be friendly and outgoing. Prior experience in retail would be ideal but we are willing to train volunteers.
DATES AVAILABLE
April 14th - April 18th
SHIFTS AVAILABLE (3- 3.5 HOURS EACH)
- SHIFT 1: 10:30AM - 1:30PM
- SHIFT 2: 1:30PM - 5:00PM

This is an in-person project.
