Chess Clubs
Dates: 7/1/2022 - 6/30/2023
Queens Public Library is seeking experienced teens and adults with a love of chess and interest in introducing the game, rules and strategies to school aged children and/or adults during school year.
Several locations are recruiting volunteers to assist the set-up of board games and assist Library staff in putting away materials at the end of the program.
Volunteers should possess intermediate to advanced knowledge of chess is required; able to teach beginner to intermediate level play; have a cheerful attitude and enjoy working with children; must demonstrate appropriate behavior and judgment when working with children; and have good communication and time management skills.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking in-person projects. You are required to complete a health and safety training and volunteer orientation prior to final approval.
Applicants that are eighteen and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
