The Civic Leadership Training Initiative (CLTI) is seeking presenters for upcoming workshops for Fall 2025.. The Initiative offers workshops, forums, and other resources that promote the development of skills to equip residents, stakeholders, professionals, and others to assume active roles within local civic institutions.workshops.
The continued involvement of the public is essential to the fabric of democracy. Socio-economic and political decisions are influenced through the opinions and beliefs of informed citizens; and have a major impact in shaping the policies and direction of the nation. We believe that access to credible and reliable forms of information and opportunities create and nurture civic minded individuals capable of making informed choices that positively impact the well-being of the community.
As a featured CLTI speaker, you can inspire participants to move beyond traditional volunteer models and embrace strategies that create deeper, more meaningful engagement and lasting impact. We encourage you to apply if you're interested in sharing your expertise and contributing to the development of civic leadership.
DEADLINE: The submission period is July 7 - August 11, 2025. All proposals must be submitted online through the official submission form by 11:59 p.m. ET on August 11. We are unable to accept proposals submitted by email, by postal mail or after the deadline.
SPEAKERS: A maximum of two (2) presenters may be featured for a CLTI workshop, unless expressly curated by QPL.
FORMAT: Workshops are held online via Microsoft Teams. Speakers must utilize a laptop or desktop computer with internet access. It is recommended that speaker have access to reliable Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
TIMEFRAME: All workshops are scheduled between September through December 2025, and schedulesd by the library.
PRESENTER REQUIRMENTS
To ensure high-quality educational experiences for our attendees, we request that all presenters be able to demonstrate the following:

Experience as a trainer and/or presenter.

Education, training and/or expertise in identified subject matter.

Professional skills or direct knowledge related to the topic.

Examples of past presentations/workshops (recording, PowerPoint, etc.)
REVIEW CRITERIA
Subject matter experts will evaluate submissions based solely on the information provided in the proposal. Each proposal will be reviewed carefully based on the following criteria:

Alignment with innovative and inspirational work in the areas of volunteer and community engagement, social innovation and change, equity, corporate social responsibility and civic engagement and activism or voice as a change making platform.

Completeness, accuracy, and clarity.
-
Well-defined, realistic learning outcomes.
-
Clear, appealing, and leading-edge content that is appropriate for the proposed audience.

Case studies, best practices, and examples for a diverse audience.
-
Up-to-date, innovative, and replicable strategies.
-
Evidence of measurable impact and effectiveness when appropriate.
-
Session design with strong potential for audience engagement and learning.
PRESENTER TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please review the presenter terms and conditions outlined below. By submitting a proposal, you indicate that you have read and are willing to abide by the terms and conditions.

Proposal submissions for the CLTI are accepted for an individual or a maximum of two (2) presenters. Panel presentations are not suitable.

The primary contact listed in the proposal will receive all communication about the session.

Information submitted in the proposal may be used for marketing the workshop. The Library may edit workshop titles and descriptions.

Virtual workshop sessions are 60-90 minutes in length and should be designed for audiences of 50-100.

The session will not be used as a platform to sell a product or service. If you mention products (e.g., books, software, etc.), they will be referenced as examples and not for sales purposes.
