Book Buddy at Sunnyside 2019-20
Book Buddies pairs volunteers with young readers (Grades K-5) who would like to practice their reading skills. The Volunteer Book Buddy will read with and be read to by children (ages 5-18) in order to help them to become better readers. The Book Buddy will also assist librarians and staff as needed.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- 14 years old and up
- Minors must provide valid guardian/parental consent and NYS working papers to volunteer. - Click to download blank forms.
- Comfortable working with young children (4-6) and/or school-aged children (7-12).
- Must have good reading skills and enjoy reading
SCHEDULE
Mondays - Saturdays 12pm-5pm
Volunteer schedules depend on individual dates and times available.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Required documents must be uploaded with the volunteer application. Incomplete applications (missing required documents) will not be processed.
Individuals 18 and older are subject to an investigative background check that may be used when considering volunteers.
