Prom x QPL Dress Giveaway - Prep Team Volunteer
This spring, Queens Public Library presents the inaugural Prom x QPL Dress Giveaway, providing a one-of-kind experience for teens in the Cambria Heights community.
What's the Prom x QPL Giveaway?
The Prom x QPL Dress Giveaway unites the generosity of the Queens community, offering local high school students a comprehensive shopping experience with complimentary formal dresses and accessories for the upcoming prom season.
Queens Public Library is reaching out to the community's sense of giving, inviting locals, businesses, and patrons to contribute by donating new or slightly worn formal wear. This includes dresses, gowns, and matching accessories such as shoes, handbags, and beauty products.
Volunteers are needed to assist Cambria Heights Teen Center in the preparation of dresses and other formal wear.
Tasks include:
- Unboxing, hanging, steaming and organizing dresses and other formal wear garments collected in our dress drive
- Unboxing matching and sorting shoes, bags and other accessories by size, style, color, etc.
No prior experience needed. Open to ages, 16 and older. If you are interested in clothing and fashion this is the perfect service opportunity for you!
TIMES OF DAY VOLUNTEER NEEDED
Select one or multiple days:
- Wednesday (April 24th) - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
- Thursday (April 25th) - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
- Friday (April 26th) - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
- Monday (April 29th) - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
- Tuesday (April 30th) - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
ADDITIONAL NOTES
This is an in-person project. Parental consent needed for minors under 18 years old.
