[EVENT] ESOL Registration Aide at Queens Village (18+)
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program is seeking bilingual/multilingual volunteers to assist with the Fall 2025 ESOL class registration period during the month of September.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Volunteers would assist with:

Helping new students with filling out intake forms and explaining information about the English classes.

Helping direct learners who do not get into the classes with finding alternate ESOL class registrations or class options within Queens Public Library.

Crowd control and giving out registration entrance tickets.
Training will be provided prior to volunteers' assigned registrations.
SKILLS REQUIRED

18 years or older
-
Possess bilingual verbal skills in either Bengali or Haitian Creole
-
Possess verbal and written proficiency of English
-
Possess patience, flexibility, and a desire to help
