Civic Engagement Conference: Leadership Takes Many Forms
SATURDAY, APRIL 18TH | 10:00AM - 4:00PM | CENTRAL LIBRARY - QUEENS, NY
Effective leadership is the practice of preparation, communication, reflection, and evaluation to help inspire, motivate, and support others to action. Leaders can assume many forms – community residents, youth, elected officials, senior citizens, students, business owners, public servants, and more.
Yet, what are the skills, characteristics, lessons, and resources that all leaders call upon to inform and strengthen their efforts?
The Civic Engagement Conference: Leadership Takes Many Forms gathers thought-leaders, practitioners, community advocates, and everyday leaders to open their “Leadership Toolbox” to discuss best practices used throughout their journey; provide advice and share tips to help level-up your endeavors.
Guests attend workshops and panel discussions and participate in networking opportunities to learn and share information and resources that strengthen your ability to serve as an informed community champion.
Civic Engagement Resource Fair
The Conference features a Civic Engagement Resource Fair from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, where individuals and organizations share information and tools about topics like voter education, citizenship, volunteerism, emergency preparedness, climate literacy, and public service.
Open to both conference attendees and the public, the fair helps visitors access resources, learn about civic engagement, and get involved in their communities.
