Central Library is nearest to the F-train 169th Street station.

From 179th Street - Upon exit at the front of the train, walk along Hillside Avenue towards Merrick Boulevard. Make left on Merrick Boulevard and walk two blocks towards 89th Avenue. Cross street and the entrance is in the middle of the block.

Bus
168th Street Interim Bus Terminal (Opened June 1, 2025)

The 168th Street Interim Bus Terminal is located one block from the Central Library. You may take any of the following bus lines - Q1, Q2, Q3, Q6, Q8, Q9, Q36, Q41, Q76, Q77,n1, n6/n6X, n22/n22X, n24, n26. Walk on 90th Avenue towards Merrick Boulevard for one block. Make a right onto Merrick Boulevard. The entrance is in the middle of the block.
Long Island Railroad (LIRR)

The Long Island Railroad Jamaica Station is located 20 minutes from Central Library. You make take several buses (Q6, Q8, Q9, Q41) to the 165th Street Bus Terminal (one block from branch) or take an Uber/Taxi outside of the station. Click here for LIRR schedules
DRIVING
The Central Library may be reached from all boroughs from the Grand Central Parkway, Van Wyck Expressway and from Long Island using the Long Island Expressway. Consult GoogleMaps or Waze to determine an appropriate route.
