Chess Club Instructor at East Flushing (QPL)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
East Flushing Library is seeking volunteers to assist the Chess Instructor to introduce the game, rules and strategies to school age children 7-12 years of age as part of an ongoing program throughout the summer and school year.
Volunteers will arrive early to assist the set-up of board games and assist Library staff in putting away materials at the end of the program.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- 14 years old and up.
- Minors must upload valid parental/guardian consent & NYS working papers.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of chess is required.
- Able to teach beginner to intermediate level play.
- Must have a cheerful attitude and enjoy working with children.
- Must demonstrate appropriate behavior and judgment when working with children.
- Good communication and time management skills.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
