Membership

The Friends of QPL groups attract a wide audience of adults, professionals, and retirees to serve as volunteers. They represent a cross section of age, culture, gender, and ethnicity that share a passion and love of knowledge.  Our volunteers share a passion and love for the library and strive to convey the importance of public libraries to others.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Willing to commit up to four (4) hours per month to related activities (planning, meetings, events, etc.)

  • Possess an interest in fundraising, event planning, community outreach

  • Must be friendly, willing to be part of a team and collaborate with others

  • Comfortable using basic technology such as email, virtual meeting apps (Zoom, Teams)

  • Experience using social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) is a plus.

Friends are encouraged to devote up to 4 hours a month.  This allows you to attend 1-2 planning meetings per month and participate in a variety of activities -- including outreach events, advocacy campaigns, and fundraising/membership drives.

 

Annual Friends Donation

Friends are required to make an annual minimum donation of $25.00 to maintain their membership.  Proceeds are available for use by members to assist with future activities and events.  All donations are tax deductible.
